Ian Fairweather has been a pioneering member of the
uncrewed vehicle industry since 2017.
He has BS in Geology from the University of Montana (2000), and a
MS in Geology/Geophysics from the University of Wyoming (2003).
Ian’s primary area of expertise is collecting, processing, and
interpreting remotely collected data sets such as bathymetric,
hyperspectral, multispectral, thermal, radar, and lidar.
Ian has revolutionized the use of these vehicles in the mining
exploration and remediation industries utilizing USV’s to collect
bathymetry and water quality data; UAVs to inspect, map, collect
physical water/sludge samples, and to deploy/retrieve scientific
monitoring equipment; and submersible ROV’s to image and explore
what lies beneath the water.
His passion and experience for designing, building, deploying,
and operating uncrewed vehicles is only surpassed by his involvement
sharing and disseminating the latest technology and robotic industry
trends.
Ian lives in Bozeman Montana with his wife and two children, they
enjoy their free time traveling the world and enjoying the wonderful
outdoor opportunities that Montana offers. |
