Al Thead started his professional career in real estate
managing property in Dallas Fort Worth and East Texas. He got
interested in UAS, GNSS, and positioning technology through his role
in a large drone startup.
Al led a Nationwide team of Pt. 107 pilots collecting LiDAR and
photogrammetric data for surveying and engineering firms across the
Southeastern United States. This work was a gateway and introduction
to geospatial technology, and interest in learning more about
surveying and geodesy.
Al lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico with his wife and two dogs in
a fifth wheel. He is an avid traveler, CCIM, Student Pilot, Part 107
pilot, blue belt in jiu jitsu, and IT hobbyist.
